about

Out of the darkest corners of drum & bass comes Freqax, an artist who doesn't play to any prototype, or produce music with the aim to be radio friendly. Nevertheless, through these stringent set of rules he's created a loyal fan base, one which has followed him since he first began putting out music. With a set of releases on some of the heavier imprints the scene pedestals, including Prspct, Othercide, Big Riddim and Harder & Louder, he's about to bring his no-holds-barred sound to Kinetik Records.

Kinetik Records have long developed their signature, helping to push artists who won't compromise with their music. And for this reason, they've created a reputation for being torch holders across the murkier realms, proving their undeniable ability to pick out the very best fighting their way through the crowd. This single from Freqax is no different and this is something he proves from start to finish.

‘Place Off' is track that offers a side punch to the aural senses, coming in thick and fast, unapologetic with a call-to-arms vocal sample. With pumping sub bass and a bassline that switches between breaks, Freqax takes no prisoners in his crushing blow by blow dancefloor slayer. Incessant drum patterns merge with its pitched-up hook to drag you further and further into the mix. The track temporarily allows you to catch your breath, before once again it ramps up with the full might of Freqax's production fury. Freqax delivers the funk, giving life to the neuro which has frequented the industry in recent years.

‘Humans' manufactures a groove which catches you between every segment, a play by play of Freqax's sound and one which is unquestionably catchy. Its weighty kick helps to propel the track forward, creating its stockier elements in between each stab of sonic. This engineering is why Freqax has made his name, the merging of stocky beat patterns and chiselled hooks which juxtapose one another flawlessly.

With Kinetik Records on board, Freqax is about to dominate the fresher waters, sure to become a recurring name on line ups throughout Europe.
2017 is a big year for new music and Freqax goes to show that.
